Ereca Peart

Miss Ereca Peart joined the Caribbean Graduate School of Theology in July of 2024 having also been an alumni (2006-2008) completing the first cohort of students in the Master of Arts in Business Administration. Miss Peart comes with a science background and over two decades of experience at the management working in manufacturing and government testing and regulation.

She is a committed Christian having received salvation at the tender age of two. She has been very active in service to her church community serving at the local church level and above in the Youth and subsequently women’s departments. She currently serves in the role of District Educational Secretary of the Wesleyan Holiness Church Eastern Jamaica District.

Miss Peart enjoys singing, hiking and other adventurous undertakings. She also makes time for interaction with the children and youth across her church’s district as “counsellor”, mentor and teacher.

Her life’s mantra: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. This is played out in her tenacious hold and life and pursuit of success marked by an indomitable spirit which aided in her successfully navigating cancer in 2005-2006 and job loss in 2017.

She brings to CGST a drive for excellence and a desire to see the expansion of the kingdom of God in the hearts of men; and in mobilising the cause of Christ through a student-centered approach to facilitate the equipping of individuals in and for ministry to the honour and glory of God.

Vaughn-Jordan LeVel

 Vaughn-Jordan LeVel serves as the Marketing and Recruitment Officer at the Caribbean Graduate School of Theology (CGST), where he spearheads marketing initiatives and student recruitment. With a BSc. in Applied Psychology (Summa Cum Laude) from the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean, he seamlessly integrates psychological insights with strategic expertise to craft impactful campaigns. 

   His tech-focused internships at Tata Group, Electronic Arts, Boston Consulting Group, Datacom, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise honed his proficiency in market research, digital strategy, and artificial intelligence applications. 

   He also created and manages CGST’s Counselling Centre’s social media platforms, amplifying its outreach and engagement. His practical experience includes a practicum placement at the Child Protection and Family Services Agency, where he applied his psychological training to support vulnerable populations. His data-driven approach, dynamic outreach efforts, and AI proficiency make him an invaluable asset to CGST’s mission.

Avril LeVel

Avril W. LeVel, a Licensed Counselling Psychologist, is the Director of The CGST Counselling Centre and Student Services at the Caribbean Graduate School of Theology. A certified telemental health practitioner, she was appointed to this role since April 2023, after serving as Registrar and Student Services Director at the institution since 2020. With a diverse background in academia and counselling, she brings a wealth of experience to the position. In addition to providing therapeutic intervention to clients she continues to be actively engaged in academia by facilitating micro credentials as well as graduate courses. A dedicated Christian, and author, she is guided by her personal motto: "With God, dedication, resilience, and hard work, I will leave indelible footprints on the sands of time.”

A proud Hamptonian, her post-secondary academic journey began at Sam Sharpe Teachers' College, where she earned a Diploma in Secondary Education, specialising in English (Language and Literature) and History. She later pursued a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and Sociology at the University of the West Indies and holds a master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from the Caribbean Graduate School of Theology and a PhD. In Psychology from Atlantic International University, USA.

A member of the Jamaican Psychological Association, her clinical interests include grief and trauma, relationships, anxiety and depression.

Anthony Oliver

Rev. Dr. Anthony Oliver, a native of Trinidad and Tobago and a committed Caribbean leader, currently serves as President of the Caribbean Graduate School of Theology (CGST), a position to which he was appointed in June 2023. A passionate educator, minister, and scholar, Dr. Oliver brings over four decades of regional and international experience in theological education and pastoral ministry.

Born in the Maracas Valley and raised in Woodbrook, Trinidad, Dr. Oliver has contributed significantly to theological development across the Caribbean. He served as Academic Dean and later Principal of Jamaica Bible College in Mandeville, as well as Academic Dean and Acting President at CGST in Kingston. From 2012 to 2014, he held the position of Dean of Academic Affairs at Caribbean Nazarene College. He is also the current President of the Caribbean Evangelical Theological Association (CETA) and has taught as an Adjunct Professor at three theological institutions in the region.

Dr. Oliver holds a Diploma in Theology from the West Indies School of Theology (WIST), a Bachelor of Theology from Jamaica Theological Seminary, a Master of Arts from CGST, and a Ph.D. in Educational Studies from Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois, USA.  In addition, he did several post graduate courses in the Master of Arts programme at The Mico University College.

He is widely recognized as a compelling motivational speaker and has represented numerous churches and organizations in regional and international forums. Dr. Oliver has pastored several congregations, including Westside Community Church in Westmoorings, Trinidad, where he served faithfully for ten years. His pastoral ministry has also included leadership roles at Mount Prospect United Brethren Church (St. Andrew, Jamaica), Carenage Pentecostal Church (Trinidad), Cumberland Community Church (Portmore, Jamaica), and Calvary Gospel Assembly (Kingston, Jamaica).

An accomplished writer, Dr. Oliver has contributed to various academic journals. His most recent publication, co-authored with two colleagues, is an article titled “The State of the Great Commission in the Caribbean”, prepared for Lausanne 2024.

Rev. Dr. Oliver has been married to his wife, Maverlin (née Sewell), for 39 years. They are the proud parents of two married adult sons and delighted grandparents of two.

Christopher Newton

Dr. Christopher Newton is an ordained bishop in the Church of God (headquarters in Cleveland, Tennessee). He currently lives in Hollywood, Florida, with his wife, Claudette. He is father to two males: Khoran (deceased) and Bradley. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theology, with a minor in Pastoral Studies, from the Jamaica Theological Seminary (JTS) and a Master of Arts in Theology, with an emphasis in Biblical Studies, from the Caribbean Graduate School of Theology (CGST). His thesis title was “Servanthood in the Book of Jeremiah: Implication for Church Leaders.” He received a Doctor of Divinity degree from the Mount Olive Bible Institute and Seminary (Canada), and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Phoenix (USA). His dissertation title was “The Intersectionality of Spirituality and Moral Development Among College Seniors: A Narrative Inquiry.”

He has been teaching in theological higher education since 1996 and has held administrative positions such as Director of the Extension Certificate Program at JTS, Director of Library and Computer Services at Bethel Bible College, and academic consultant to Midland Bible Institute, all in Jamaica. At present, he is the head of department for Theological and Religious Studies at the Caribbean Graduate School of Theology.

As a bi-vocational pastor, since 1994, he has served in rural, suburban, and inner-city churches, where his focus has always been to pastor the community rather than just the local church. In his pastoral theology and ecclesiology, every church should be a community church, trying to win the community through engagement and service. He is passionate about the development of males in both church and society. He currently oversees Macedonia Full Gospel Outreach, headquartered at 3a Upper Elletson Road, Kingston 16, in Jamaica.

He has competence in both theological and qualitative scientific research (Case Study, Interpretative Phenomenology, and Narrative Inquiry). Research interests include church growth, students with disabilities, Christian worship, ministerial care, and collaboration of academic and student affairs. Hobbies include playing and listening to live music, playing football, and reading.

Rosemarie Sinclair-Dowdie

An experienced and dedicated accounting professional with progressive leadership and accounting experience which has enabled a thorough appreciation for the value of timely and accurate information and the maintenance of proper accounting standards. A highly organized individual with well-developed written and oral communication skills and uncompromising professional integrity.  

Nordia Crawford

Nordia Crawford has been in service at the Caribbean Graduate School of Theology (CGST), for over twenty years during which time she has served in various capacities. She began her journey at CGST as an Administrative Support staff in the CGST Counselling Centre—then known as The Counselling Centre (TCC)—and has since grown into several leadership and professional capacities. Miss Crawford has worked as a Business Administrator in the Accounts Department, a Counselling Practitioner in the CGST Counselling Centre, an Adult Educator and Practicum Coordinator in the Department of Behavioural and Social Sciences where she currently serves as Head of Department . A proud CGST graduate, she is a trained and experienced counsellor with over 10 years of professional counselling experience. Her deep understanding of counselling, administration, and adult education has made her an integral part of CGST’s continuing legacy of academic and personal transformation.

Beyond the walls of academia, Miss Crawford actively serves the wider community through her bi-weekly virtual outreach series, "Online with the Counsellor". In this voluntary role, she facilitates open and engaging discussions on vital mental health topics such as anxiety, self-esteem, grief, and stress management.

Miss Crawford is also an author of four books and six reflection journals, which further reflect her passion for emotional well-being and spiritual growth. Known for her warm, fun-loving personality, she embraces and engages in joyful and creative activities as part of her self-care routine.
